i enjoyed the english class last week
so, another week has passed again. last week, in our english class, i like how it was done. our teacher just watch us and she let us finish on outlining our specific topic. i like the way it was because our teacher just monitored and watched us finish the outlining and she is just waiting for any student to ask for help about his/her topic. many of us cant finish it without the guidance from our teacher. also, the kasama elections was held last week. i thought of not voting because as far as i know, i wont enjoy much of the benefits if my chosen candidate won. i didnt pay attention whenever someone was campaigning in the middle of our class, i ddint go to the miting de avance and all the activities for the kasama elections. when the election day came, i realized, that what if ill try to vote and see if ill be satisfied. with less information about the candidates, i was thinking of how will i vote the right one for me. good thing, the gave some leaflets of their platforms, at least, i had an idea about them. :D

blog for the week
it was a busy week for me, almost all the my subjects required time. reports here, assignments there, tests there, projects here plus the tactical inspection in our rotc, all of those things in a week.
i wanted to say that " hey, mahina ang kalaban, ako ra isa, dagahan kaau mong mga subjects". but then i realized, its the normal life of an iit student, no time to relax if there is an extra time, it should be spent studying. still, with the time given, im still not finished with the requirements for our english 2 class. :(

blog for the wek
i missed a lot on the wednesday class of our english 2 because i was absent. i was confined in the hospital for 2 days because of stomach pains. i was allowed to go home by tuesday afternoon at about 5 pm. the doctor advised me to take a 1 day rest before going back to school. so as a result, i missed that class. as i asked one of my classmates about what happened in the class, he told me that they have done many activities and it got me a bit worried. when i joined the class again on friday, i felt that i really missed a lot. it made me feel that i do not belong to that class anymore.

reaction on the issue of having the first language as a primary langauge for grade schoolers
the issue of having the first language as a primary language for grade schoolers is quite interesting for me.
having the first language to be the primary language in school will be quite a difficult transformation in our education system. all school materials are printed in the english language. but as to the effects, i think it will be to our advantage. they can now write using the first language which in my part is very hard because i really cant express my thoughts in my first language. in speaking i prefer to use my first language because i am very comfortable on it but when it comes to writing, there is no other language i would prefer to use other than english. speaking is not so different with writing, unless that writing is a written statement. its just you write what you have spoken.
when it comes to subjects to be taught in the first language, it will be so interesting. in my 16 years of existence, i dont even know the cebuano term for "multiply" even if i encountered this word early in my life. its a good thing to teach this lessons in the first language. it makes me wanna go back to elementary because i want to know the cebuano word for certain words/topics. watching classes to be held in the first language will be fun.

learning blog for this week
this week, we were thought on the steps on how to make a research paper. it involves quite a lot of steps to make the research paper presentable. i find some difficulties in selecting the topic because it was not based on my interest and the topic should be related to our course. communications is quite a vast field so i decided to pick my topic about cellphones. later on, i found it also hard to deal so i changed my topic to eco-friendly phones.

christmas vacation
this christmas vacation was spent in an unexpected way. when i was still young, i wished of spending this holiday season at cebu or bohol, with my relatives. but as i grew older this, wish was slowly ignored. and GOD granted the wish this time. i am not that happy because in real life it is better to celebrate christmas with the family.and also the timing is not good for me because we will have our alumni homecoming in highschool on december 28 and we went home december 30. and unluckily, i could not join the alumni homecoming. i was not in the mood for almost two days because of that. i was not totally ready about the idea of celebrating christmas away from home and not participating the anticipated alumni homecoming. GOD granted my wish when i was least expecting.

experience for the week
Nothing really exciting happened the past days but something has really bothered me. It was about our class in history 3. Our teacher gave us a somewhat surprise quiz. Yes, I was really surprised because we were allowed to use our first language in answering. Our teacher gave the questions in the vernacular form and we were somewhat shocked. At the beginning, we could not believe in his style but he was really serious and he pushed-through our quiz. I was really laughing because it was so awkward to write in vernacular. So using english in writing has really became the first language in writing.
